Olivewood Gardens is a 7.85-acre, learning center in National City, CA whose purpose is to build healthy families and a healthy environment. In their hands-on, indoor-outdoor classrooms, Olivewood Gardens offers classes in gardening, nutrition, cooking, job skills and leadership to students and of all ages.
The Challenge: A Limiting Website
Olivewood Garden’s previous website didn’t allow them to expand and grow to meet its goals. Despite hosting many classes and events, they had no way to showcase what was happening on their website. Additionally, they wanted a mobile-friendly website that would appeal to a wider audience, attract new donors, and allow them to accept online donations.
The Solution: Design With the User in Mind
The team at Mance Creative designed a new site for Olivewood Gardens to create the best possible user experience. The site is complex, yet intuitive with a bright color palette and friendly system of fonts. The site also allows Olivewood Gardens to showcase everything they do with a calendar of events, quick recipe catalog, embedded videos and blog. Additionally, the site is mobile-friendly, allows for online donations, and is 100% bilingual with options to toggle between either English or Spanish with one click.
