The Old Globe
Founded in 1935, The Old Globe is a nationally recognized, Tony Award winning theater that produces 15 plays annually at its 3-stage complex in the heart of Balboa Park. In 2017, The Globe recognized that the time had come to hire a new design firm and approached Mance Creative based, in part, on our years of experience in and extensive knowledge of the world of theater. They also wanted a firm that had a strong team dynamic.
The Challenge:
Urgent & Rapid Design Onboarding
Because The Old Globe’s marketing department has many moving parts and a fast-paced, time sensitive production schedule that requires a rapid response, there was no time for a slow buildup. Mance Creative hit the ground running to design all The Globe’s mailers, brochures, banners, marquee signage for all three theaters and all of their print ads (sometimes as many as a dozen each week), as well as specialized design pieces such as their annual report and arts engagement packages.

Now, entering our third successful year as the Old Globe’s design firm, we continue to meet The Old Globe’s rigorous design needs, in part, because of the work we’ve done to develop a synergistic relationship with them.
